With a cabinet shuffle looming at Queen’s Park, one minister’s choosing to step down to support the premier’s goal of gender parity in her inner circle.
Ted McMeekin has announced in a Facebook post that ”Sometimes the best way for a man to advance the equality of women may be to step back and make room at the table. For me, this is such a time”.
The 68-year-old McMeekin says he’ll stay on as minister of municipal affairs and housing until a replacement’s named and will continue representing the riding of Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale … for now.
