The 27-year-old man, accused of stabbing soldiers at the Canadian Forces recruitment centre in North York in mid-March, now faces terror-related charges.
The RCMP has laid nine charges against Ayanle, Hassan Ali, including three counts of attempted murder, all for the benefit of a terrorist group.
Toronto police had already laid nine charges in the incident and have said Ali claimed to be carrying out the attack because he was told to do so by Allah.
