Two of former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty’s top staffers are scheduled to stand trial on breach of trust and mischief charges in September 2017.
Livingston Miller
One-time chief of staff David Livingston and his deputy Laura Miller, who recently returned to her post as executive director of the B.C. Liberals will face breach of trust and mischief charges September 11 next year.
Six weeks have been set aside for the case.
They were charged after a police investigation into the deletion of emails about the Liberals decision to pull the plug on the Mississauga and Oakville gas plants before the provincial election in 2011.
Both Miller and Livingston have denied they hired Miller’s partner to wipe clean approximately 20 hard drives in the premier’s office.
The trial will come just months before the next scheduled election when Kathleen Wynne will seek a second majority.
