The city of Toronto’s been chosen to join a Rockefeller Foundation initiative – 100 Resilient Cities.
Toronto was one of 37 cities selected in the final round from over 1,000 applicants the past three years.
100RC President Micahel Berkowitz explains Toronto made it, ”because of its leaders’ commitment to resilience building and the innovative and proactive way they’ve been thinking about the challenges the city faces.”
As part of the 100RC Network, Toronto will be eligible to receive funding to hire a Chief Resilience Officer.
It’ll also have access to tools, resources and technical expertise that ”will help the city build resilience to physical, social and economic challenges that are a growing part of the 21st century.”
