Another Canadian home sales record.

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association, April sales set a new record for the month – with a 10.3 per cent increase – compared with a year ago.

The CREA reports April sales were up – in about 70 per cent of all local markets – boosted by the Toronto region and in British Columbia.

The national average price for homes sold in April was just over $508,000.

That’s up 13.1 per cent, compared with a year ago.

If you exclude the GTA and greater Vancouver markets, the average price was $369,222 – an increase of 8.7 per cent from April 2015.
