Motorists beware. One of downtown Toronto’s busiest east-west routes is getting a major upgrade starting today.
100-year old water mains are being replaced on Queen Street West, between Bathust and Spadina.
Construction will see the north side of Queen closed, keeping two lanes on the south side open. The plan is to then switch sides to complete the project by October.
The construction is part of a $500-million dollar infrastructure upgrade.
Street cars will be diverting around the area, but buses will still operate through the construction zone.
