A four-member panel`s been appointed by the Trudeau government to formally review Canada Post.
These four will study a wide range of issues, including whether the Crown corporation should continue delivering mail door-to-door.

On top of that, a parliamentary committee will also hear what Canadians want from their postal system with the aim to report to Parliament by the end of the year.
In announcing the review, Public Services Minister Judy Foote says, “There`s a potential here for restoring home mail delivery.  The question is, is it restored on a two-day a week, three-day a week, five-day a week – we need to hear from Canadians what they need.  So it could be anything from a shorter period of time to a longer period of time…We’re not ruling out anything.“
However she points out some Canadians, like those in new subdivisions, will always have community mailboxes.

Shortly after the Liberals won last October`s election, Canada Post temporarily suspended the conversion from door-to-door delivery to community mailboxes.

The Zoomer advocacy group CARP’s on record as favouring continuation of door-to-door mail delivery, arguing older Canadians may have a hard time getting to a community mailbox, especially in the winter.
