Almost 90 years after it was first performed in Paris, the copyright has run out on one of classical music’s most popular and unique pieces.
BOLERO
Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero” was written in 1928 and performed on November 22 of that year at Paris Opera Garnier.  The work was originally a ballet piece.
France’s Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers says a performance of “Bolero” begins every 10 minutes in the world and because it’s 17 minutes long, it is therefore playing at all times somewhere.
