T.T.C. C.E.O. Andy Byford says he is both frustrated and dissatisfied that Bombardier’s latest promise to deliver more streetcars is running late.

Byford says he’s unable to confirm a delivery schedule, but says it is evident that Bombardier will not hit the four vehicles per month the TTC was promised as recently as last month.
Bombardier has delivered only 17 of the 204 new streetcars, ordered as part of a $1.25 billion dollar contract.Bombardier’s latest schedule would have put 54 streetcars in operation by year’s end, with the full fleet promised by the end of 2019.  The original plan was to have 73 streetcars arrive by the end of 2015.

Bombardier says the company’s new president of transportation for the Americas is still assessing the situation and plans to speak with T.T.C. officials in the coming days.
