Voters in Manitoba have ended 16 years NDP government, electing a majority Progressive Conservative government under the leadership of 61-year-old Brian Pallister.
The Tories took 40 of the province’s 57 ridings in yesterday’s election after running on a platform of cutting waste and duplication, lowering taxes and improving services.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sent his congratulations last night saying he’s looking forward to working with the new Manitoba government.
Former Premier Greg Selinger won his St. Boniface riding, but is stepping down as leader of the NDP.
