High honours for some Canadian TV.
There are Peabody Award nominations in the U.S. for the Canadian productions of  “The Book of Negroes” and “Do Not Track.”
“The Book of Negroes” miniseries, about a woman forced into slavery, is a co-production from CBC-TV and American network BET.

Based on Canadian author Lawrence Hill’s acclaimed novel, it’s already won several honours, including nine Canadian Screen Awards.

“Do Not Track” is described as a “personalized documentary” series about online privacy – that premiered on the National Film Board of Canada website.

A total of 60 finalists are in the running for the awards, which are named for American businessman and philanthropist George Peabody.
