The city has issued an extreme cold alert – to go along with the early April snowfall we just received.
Toronto and the GTA can expect extreme cold overnight – with temperatures dropping to -10 C and windchills in the -17 C range.
Experts say this type of frigid weather is certainly rare – but it’s not unheard of in early April – when temperatures are usually around 9 C.
Warmer spring weather is due to return by mid-week but there’s the possibility of another storm arriving on Wednesday.
