The entire Zoomer Radio coverage area is under either a weather statement or a weather warming today, as a winter storm heads our way.
Environment Canada says the GTA can expect snow or a snow and ice pellet mix this morning, changing to rain this afternoon with freezing rain possible during the transition.
The Cobourg – Northumberland Country area is under a freezing rain warning. The freezing rain is expected to change to rain as the temperature rises above zero. The weather agency is also advising that significant rainfall amounts are possible tonight.
A winter storm warning is in effect for the Georgian Triangle with significant amounts of snow expected this morning and becoming mixed with ice pellets and some freezing rain this afternoon and tonight. Accumulations of up to 20 cms are likely.
As a result, you are asked to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If you are flying today, check with your airline before you leave home.
