Some important cancer news.

Researchers have discovered that pancreatic cancer is made up of at least four separate diseases – each with a different cause – and requiring different treatment.

Doctor Andrew Biankin at the University of Glascow calls the study of the pancreatic cancer of 456 patients, “the most comprehensive analysis of the blueprint of the disease – which reveals what makes these cancers tick and which ones may be vulnerable to particular treatments – by defining the Achilles heal of every cancer.”

Most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are told they have less than a year to live – and just one percent are alive 10 years after diagnosis.

The study’s analysis is published in the journal Nature.
