Dramatic cross-examination on the second day of Jian Ghomeshi’s sex assault trial.
One of the complainants, who told police and court she had no contact with the former CBC radio host after two alleged attacks, testified Tuesday she had sent him two emails and a photo of her in a bikini more than one year later.
She told defence lawyer Marie Henein she did this to bait Ghomeshi into calling her to explain his actions.
Asked by Henein if she’s prepared to admit she’s lied under oath, the woman refused, adding she did not recall the emails.
Earlier, Ghomeshi’s lawyer questioned the witness about her recollection of the details of one of the alleged assaults.
She told the court when she spoke to police she was nervous and that her memory is clearer now.
