SOME CHANGES TO BE AWARE OF ON JANUARY FIRST

As of tomorrow there are changes coming to a number of the ways we carry on life in Ontario.

In the health sector, starting January first – smoking is prohibited anywhere on the grounds of a hospital. The sale of flavoured tobacco is banned – as is the sale of e-cigarettes to children.

And a warning for drivers – as of tomorrow you have to wait until a crosswalk is fully emptied of pedestrians- before proceeding.

And all insurance companies must offer you a discount if you install winter tires on your car – and bad drivers who are ordered to attend demerit point interviews will be charged a new $50 fee to cover the cost – and will lose their licence if they don’t pay.

Also, if you are an MPP – or are concerned about how much government money your MPP is spending – as of New Year’s day – all MPPs must start posting their expenses on line.
