Provincial and territorial finance ministers have wrapped up a meeting in Ottawa with their federal counterpart.
Bill Morneau says they covered a broad range of economic issues.
”We had the opportunity to talk about how we can help to ensure that we have a strong level of economic growth in this country. The key focus of our agenda was talking about the kinds of investments we can make to make a difference in this country. We spoke about infrastructure investment and the way we can deliver on that promise.”
Morneau adds they also talked about the potential enhancement of the Canada Pension Plan.
The advocacy group CARP – A New Vision of Agining – says its members will be disappointed the finance ministers have again failed to act on CPP.
They’ve agreed to keep talking … prompting CARP’s Susan Eng to say, ”All this posturing is really getting old” … adding ”the finance officials have all the facts … the implementation details are not mysterious … all that is missing is political will.”
