Roy_Thomson_Hall_TorontoIt’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for the Syrian refugees who are lucky enough to plan a future in Canada. CN Rail has donated five million dollars to help the newcomers settle in. Immigration Minister John McCallum is urging other corporations to follow CN’s example.
Canada Council for the Arts got into the spirit of giving as well. The agency is setting up a 200 thousand dollar fund  to enable Syrian refugees to attend free performances, exhibitions and arts events.
Funding for the two year program comes from Canada Council and Sun Life Financial.
