You may not have needed Neilsen Data to tell you but the use of Internet-ready devices like smartphones has severely cut into most American’s TV time.
What we’re tracking here is the increase in the number of 18 to 34-year-Phonesolds who used a smartphone, tablet, or TV connected device like a streaming box or game console.
That’s up 26 percent in May from a year earlier. How many people? An average of 8.5 million people per minute.
Apparently the gains shown by these devices more than offsets the declines in traditional TV, Radio , and Computer use.
