Quebec Superior Court has postponed the implementation of a provincial law on doctor-assisted dying until at least February.

The legislation was expected to become enacted – on December 10th.

The Coalition of Physicians for Social Justice wanted an injunction against the controversial Quebec law – which was adopted in June of 2014.

The provincial government says it’ll try to appeal the ruling – and the health and justice ministers have both restated their belief that the law is perfectly valid.
