It was an historic night in Canada.

A Liberal win in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador means there are no longer any Conservative based governments, provincial or federal, in Canada.

Liberal Leader Dwight Ball says he was inspired by Justin Trudeau’s winning strategy of offering hope and change.

“Positive politics is a powerful force for change,” Ball told supporters after the win, “And tonight, that has proven itself true, again in Newfoundland and Labrador.”

Ball led his Liberals to a resounding win last night in the provincial election pushing out the Progressive Conservatives who led Newfoundland and Labrador for 12 years.

During the campaign, Liberal Leader Dwight Ball repeatedly invoked Justin Trudeau’s winning strategy of offering hope and change.

Trudeau won all of Atlantic Canada’s 32 ridings in the federal vote on October 19th.

Once Ball assumes power, every province east of Manitoba will be governed by Liberals, and there won’t be any governments federal or provincial using the Conservative brand.

Dwight Ball is a 58 year old former pharmacist and entrepreneur. He says he has plans to forge close links with Trudeau’s Liberals, ending an era dominated by confrontation between his province and the former Conservative government.
