Anyone travelling through lower Parkdale this weekend should give themselves more time to get around as two bridges will be removed Saturday November 21st and Sunday the 22nd.
As a result of the demolition, the Dowling and Dunn Avenue bridges will not be available for vehicles, including bicycles and pedestrians.
A temporary bridge at Dowling Avenue, which will only be for pedestrians and cyclists, will open in December.
A temporary one at Dunn Avenue will open to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in March.
Motorists will need to use Jameson Avenue or Dufferin Street to get to Lake Shore Blvd West.
There will be several lane and ramp closures from this Friday at 9pm until Monday at 5am.
Closures include, ramps from westbound Gardiner to Dunn and Jameson and ramp from Jameson to westbound Gardiner.
There will be no westbound right turn lane on Lake Shore between Dunn and Jameson and westbound Gardiner will be reduced to two lanes in the vicinity of the Dowling Avenue bridge.
Plus, the intersection of Jameson and westbound Lake Shore Blvd will be controlled by police to allow motorists to make right turns onto Jameson and to allow construction traffic to access the ramp to Jameson.
