Statistics Canada says the economy added 44-thousand jobs last month while the unemployment rate dipped to 7 percent.
The increase in jobs is due to a surge in temporary public-administration work likely generated by the federal election.
The October data also shows the number of part-time positions soared by more than 35-thousand, while full-time jobs edged up by just 9-thousand.

The overall net increase in jobs last month was higher than economists’ expectations and surpassed the 12-thousand positions added in September.
