Bombardier can expect a lawsuit from the TTC board – for not delivering Toronto’s new streetcars.
At its Wednesday meeting the board approved a list of seven potential actions against the company – including a request that the CEO of Bombardier come before the board next month – and that staff look into alternative suppliers if the Quebec-based company cannot fulfil the orders for Toronto’s 204 new streetcars.
The deal is valued at about $1.25 billion.
The TTC had been expecting 20 cars by the end of this year – but Bombardier admitted it couldn’t come up with them by then.
