In his anti-Stephen Harper folk song, Tony Turner and friends sing ”Harperman, it’s time for you to go.”
But it turns out it’s Turner who’s leaving.
Harperman-TonyTurner
Turner, a civil servant for nearly 20 years, and singer-songwriter was suspended with pay this summer for allegedly breaching the government’s values and ethics code for public servants for recording and posting the song, ”Harperman,” on YouTube.

He was assured of a quick investigation.
But as it drags on, Turner, who had been planning to retire, has decided it was better to go now, than await the findings.
He does believe though that he acted within his rights under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and says he did not act contrary to the government’s code.
The video, which includes more than 40 backup singers, has attracted close to 660,00 views.
