BEER COMING TO GROCERY STORE NEAR YOU BY CHRISTMAS - MAYBE

A couple months from now, you might be able to make one less stop as you’re running around doing errands.
The premier played ‘Santa’ in announcing beer will be available in up to 60 grocery stores come December.

Kathleen Wynne says this could be viewed as a ”holiday present” that many have been waiting for, for a long time.
The goal is to have six packs in 450 supermarkets within three years.
The 10-year agreement between the province and Brewers’ Retail will see 20-percent of shelf space devoted to craft beers.
The first batch of licences to sell suds will be limited to 25 grocery stores in the GTA, 16 in western Ontario, 13 in the east and six up north.
Prices will be the same, wherever beer’s sold.
Another change will allow 9,000 smaller bars and restaurants to buy beer at retail prices instead of paying premium rates.
