The Toronto Community Housing Corporation has presented mayor John Tory and his task force on social housing with a list of more than 70 measures – it feels will improve the standard of living in its Buildings.
But a number of them call for more money.
Some items on the list are already underway – or will be – by the end of this year – but others could be implemented by the end of 2016 if TCHC is given addition funding.
In July, the task force led by Senator Art Eggleton came out with an interim report that raised serious questions – about the safety and overall standard of living in Toronto’s public housing buildings.
At the time TCHC was given 60 days to provide a plan on how to implement the task force recommendations.
