The decision by SkyGreece Airlines to ”temporarily cease operations” has stranded about 1,000 travellers, but all may not be lost.

While the airline is simply telling customers to get in touch with their travel agents, there are three options you may have.
First, anyone who used a credit card to book a flight can ask the credit card company for a refund.
Some credit cards also include travel insurance that covers the cost of unforeseen issues.
The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) suggests contacting the credit card company, ”first and foremost.”
Second, anyone who’s booked a SkyGreece flight with a registered travel agent may be eligible for compensation.  TICO’s compensation fund provides up to a $5,000 refund for every traveller affected by the shutdown of an airline.
There’s a six-month deadline to apply, which means if SkyGreece has ceased operations for good, travellers have until February 29 to submit their claim.
Third, those who paid for a flight in cash and didn’t use a travel agent to book it, may not have many options.
But a claim filed by a passenger rights advocate may offer hope.
Gabor Lukacs is calling on the Canadian Transportation Agency to use its powers to order SkyGreece to put up $8.7 million in security to cover potential claims.
