It’s a busy weekend around the city and that equates to traffic slowdowns.

Lakeshore is closed between Strachan and Colborne Lodge Road for the Para Pan Am cycling races.  Parkside Drive from Lakeshore to Bloor is also closed, while lane reductions are in effect on the Queensway. Those closures will be in effect until six this evening.

Meanwhile,  Danforth Avenue remains closed between Broadview and Jones Avenue for A Taste of Danforth. More than 1.6 million people are expected to attend the 22nd annual edition of the event.

And the TTC has announced that subway service till start at 6 am Sunday, rather than the normal Sunday start time of 9 am. Commuters can thank the Para Pan Am Games for the extra hours of service.

There is a bit of good news on the traffic front. Leslie Street, south of Queen East has been reopened after a construction project that lasted almost two years. The road was closed in 2013 to allow for the installation of new streetcar tracks and the construction of a new barn to service the yet to be received Bombardier streetcars.
