A capacity crowd of about 45-thousand people is expected for tonight’s official opening of the Pan Am and Para Pan Am games.
Details of the ceremony are being kept secret but Cirque de Soleil has created a special show for the games’ opening. The event will feature more than 625 performers representing 25 nationalities taking part.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Premier Kathleen Wynne are expected to join the audience for tonight’s festivities.
There will be a number of road closures in the downtown core related to the final day of the torch relay and the opening ceremony.
About 10-thousand athletes and representatives from 41 countries will participate in the Games, making it the largest international multi-sport event ever held in Canada.
