FIFA officials did take bribes.
So says former member of the soccer governing body’s executive committee – Chuck Blazer.
He told a judge in New York they agreed to take 10-million dollars to vote for South Africa to host the 2010 World Cup.
But South Africa’s sport minister denies it was a bribe – saying the money was an above board payment to help soccer development in the Caribbean region.
Blazer also says he arranged bribes around 1992 – in the vote for which country would host the 1998 World Cup.
That’s when France beat out Morocco.
