Great news for Canadian author Iain Reid.

He’s this year’s winner of the RBC Taylor Emerging Writer Award – which comes with $10,000.

Reid’s memoir “The Truth About Luck” was chosen by the 2015 Taylor Prize winner, Plum Johnson, who was very impressed after reading the memoir about an inspiring “staycation” in Kingston, Ontario.

The book tells the story of Reid’s visit with his grandmother and the family’s exploration of local sites – as the memories flow.

Iain Reid is a frequent contributor to the National Post and the author of another memoir – “One Bird’s Choice.”
