The death toll in Nepal stands at 4,500 this morning but experts fear the number of those killed in Saturday’s earthquake could reach 10,000. Aid workers and officials in remote, shattered villages in Nepal are pleading for food, shelter and medicine for survivors. Canada is sending more relief supplies and says it will match donations to a fund specifically set up to help people in that country. Ottawa will match dollar-for-dollar all eligible contributions to the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund until May 25 and retroactively to when donations first started streaming in on Saturday. An advance crew of Canada’s elite disaster assistance team is due to arrive in Nepal tomorrow.
