William Shakespeare put it best: “We have seen better days.”
A new study says only 8 per cent of the top universities in the U.S. – require English majors to take a course focused on Shakespeare.
A study called “The Unkindest Cut: Shakespeare in Exile 2015,” found that only four of America’s 52 highest-ranked universities and colleges have a Shakespeare requirement.
Schools that still ask English majors to study the Bard are : Harvard, The University of California-Berkeley, Wellesley College and (surprise) ..the U.S. Naval Academy.
The report says: “The Bard, who is the birthright of the English speaking world, has no seat of honour.”
