Gordon Lightfoot is taking a break after coming down with food poisoning. The Canadian folk legend has rescheduled several concert dates all of which were in the northern U.S. he will now perform in late May with an additional concert in Green Bay, Wisconsin shifted to November.
Lightfoot’s publicist confirmed the 76-year-old star entered the hospital with profound abdominal discomfort and dehydration. He was released on March 13th, and ordered to rest for two weeks
The recovery period was perhaps prolonged by unrelated abdominal surgery Lightfoot underwent in 2002.
Lightfoot, who works out diligently, is expected to make a full recovery and representatives stressed that it wasn’t a major incident.
