The house known as the “Robin’s Nest” on the television series Magnum PI with Tom Selleck has changed hands.  The sprawling beachfront home has sold for $8.7 million to a close friend of President Barack Obama.

An attorney for buyer  Marty Nesbitt  said that his client bought the property and  didn’t have any partners or co-investors in the deal. White House spokesman Josh Earnest confirmed on Friday that Obama was not behind the purchase.

The 3-acre property is in Waimanalo, next to the town of Kailua where the Obama family has spent the winter holidays in recent years.

Nesbitt is a Chicago businessman who served as treasurer for Obama’s first presidential run. He is the chairman of the Barack Obama Foundation, which will build the president’s future library.
