If you pay for a number of things with your smartphone, add parking to the list.

The Toronto Parking Authority’s unveiled a free app, which allows you to pay for parking at outdoor Green P lots that currently use pay and display machines.

The service is now available at five outdoor lots and will eventually be at all of them and will include on-street parking by early next year.

The app will also alert you that your parking’s about to expire.

Mobile phone users can find the app at “greenp.com” to set up an account and provide licence plate and credit card info.
