The iconic landmark that is Honest Eds, at the corner of Bloor and Bathurst in Toronto, could be home to 1,000 units of rental housing along with retail shops and restaurants. A development plan unveiled last night calls for some 55 buildings on the site, ranging from 2.5 storeys to a 29 storey micro-tower. According to the design, from the street, the buildings will appear as individual units, but they’ll be grouped together and share common corridors. The developer, who was chosen by David Mirvish, has not yet made an application to the city and stresses that this is a conceptual design and very much a work in progress.
