The issue of murdered or missing aboriginal women and girls in Canada will be examined today in Ottawa.

A roundtable get-together will involve two federal cabinet ministers, several aboriginal leaders, and four premiers – including Ontario’s Kathleen Wynne.

Wynne hopes the federal government will provide funding – if those at the meeting can come up with a plan.

In the past 30 years, an estimated 12-hundred aboriginal women and girls have either been killed or have simply vanished.

Prime Minister Harper has rejected calls for a public inquiry into the matter.
