Roman Polanski’s lawyers want the media barred from next week’s hearing into a U.S. request for his extradition – over 1977 charges of sex with a minor.
A judge in Krakow – where the Oscar winner spent his childhood -is expected to hear the case next Wednesday.
Polanski’s in Poland preparing to make a movie – and will attend the court hearing.
Lawyers for the filmmaker made the request to bar media from the courtroom to protect Polanski’s privacy – and due to the circumstances of the case.
Krakow prosecutors say they see no legal obstacles to Polanski’s extradition, but they have refused a U.S. request to arrest him.
