A chilling warning from British Defence Secretary, Michael Fallon.

He says Russia poses “a real and present danger” to European security and that tensions between Moscow and NATO are “warming up.”

The comments were made to reporters in Sierra Leone and are among the harshest made by senior British officials in recent months.

Fallon said NATO must be prepared for Russian President Vladimir Putin to threaten former Soviet-bloc  countries including Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia.

The British Ministry of Defence says Royal Air Force jets escorted Russian bombers away from British air-space after they approached yesterday.

There’ve been increasing reports recently of Russian probing of British defences.
