BAFTA NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

The British Academy of Film Awards has announced its list of nominees for the British equivalent of the Oscars.

The five nominated films are showing up on awards many awards lists: Boyhood, Birdman, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything.

Benedict Cumberbatch leads the list of nominees for best actor for his star turn in The Imitation Game. Ralph Fiennes is also nominated as best actor for his comic turn in Grand Budapest Hotel alongside Eddie Redmayne for The Theory of Everything, Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler, and Michael Keaton for Birdman.

Best-actress contenders are Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything, Amy Adams for Big Eyes, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl and Reese Witherspoon for Wild.

The BAFTA’s will be presented at London’s Royal Opera House on February 8th.
