Doug Ford has yet to begin his late-entry campaign for Mayor of Toronto.

The Councillor and brother of current Mayor Rob Ford took over for his brother on Friday. But Doug Ford spent much of the weekend visiting his brother at Mount Sinai hospital where the mayor is being treated for an abdominal tumour.

Doug Ford may be facing a setback right out of the gate. A campaign spending expert says the Ford brothers can’t share money that Rob Ford has raised so far. Jack Siegel tells the Globe and Mail contributions to one campaign can’t be transferred to another. Doug Ford can’t even use his brother’s “Ford for Mayor” lawn signs and buttons unless he buys them.

And Rob Ford can’t take the money from his mayoral war chest and use it for his run for his old Ward in Etobicoke.

Siegel says both Fords have to “start from scratch.”

Two more debates are scheduled for today: at Ryerson University at 5:00 and at St. Andrew’s Church at 7:00. There’s no word on whether Doug Ford will be there.
