Another urgent warning about climate change.

A groundbreaking report from Nature Canada’s partner organization The Audubon Society says many bird species across Canada and the U.S. are in peril – and half of all birds studied could see a dramatic drop in population because of the earth’s changing climate.

The report zero’s in on habitat disruption as one of the main factors pushing bird populations – into areas they are not adapted to.

The Audubon Society says the change is happening so fast that many species simply cannot keep up.

It says Canada needs to prepare for an influx of “climate refugee species” that have become displaced by warmer temperatures, drought, or extreme weather – and many birds need our support right now – to ensure they have the habitat they need to survive.
