If you’re curious about what’s going on at one of the world’s greatest repositories of art and artifacts, you can now consult your iphone. New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art has a lot of old stuff, but it’s newest offering is an app on iphone. At the moment, the product is exceedingly uncomplicated. In essence it’s a mobile information desk that feeds visitors up-to-date information on the museum’s exhibits and programs. If you want to know what’s going on at The Met today or simply looking for the hours and directions, consult the app. In the interest of not turning into a multi-gigabyte phone-bloater, the app bumps most of the deep-dive information such as audio tours of museum exhibits to the Met’s mobile website.
