The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia is hosting the first U-S museum retrospective featuring art by famed movie and TV director David Lynch. Lynch started out as a visual artist in the mid 60’s when he enrolled as an advanced student at the Academy. The retrospective brings together paintings and drawings from five decades and includes a trove of barely exhibited early work from Lynch’s time in Philadelphia. Lynch’s movie work includes “The Elephant Man”, “Blue Velvet”, “Wild at Heart” and “Mulholland Drive”. His TV work includes “Twin Peaks”. The retrospective opens September 13th.
