Actor-singer-and humanitarian Harry Belafonte is being honoured.
The 87-year-old Belafonte and 94-year old Maureen O’Hara are among those to be honoured by The Motion Picture Academy’s board of governors.
In November, Belafonte will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in Los Angeles – recognizing his dedication to shedding light on racism and inequality worldwide.
Maureen O’Hara’s films include “The Quiet Man.” She’ll join artist and animated filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and screenwriter Jean-Claude Carriere in receiving honorary Academy Awards for lifetime achievement.
