Three of Toronto’s candidates for Mayor debated the city’s heritage last night.
But it was really more of a consensus than a debate. John Tory, Olivia Chow, and David Socknaki all agreed on the importance of preserving the city’s past. They talked about a possible Museum of Toronto. Chow said Vancouver and New York have one, and it should
Mayor Rob Ford gave the debate a pass because he had a fundraiser scheduled at his mother’s house. And Karen Stintz has dropped out of the race.
Stintz also announced she won’t run for re-election as a city councillor. After the debate, Tory said he hopes Stintz will remain engaged in some sort of public service.
There are another 30 debates scheduled between now and election day on October 27th.
