The Toronto Symphony Orchestra closes out the Toronto Summer Music Festival tonight.

The TSO plays Koerner Hall for the first time in a sold-out performance that will include music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Shostakovich, and Rachmaninoff.

The concert is a tune-up for the TSO’s first European tour in 14 years. The orchestra leaves tomorrow on a trip that will take it to music festivals in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Iceland, and Finland.

Violinist James Ehnes and clarinetist Jorg Widmann will accompany the TSO.

Funding for the concert is being provided by Renette and David Berman, corporate sponsors, and all three levels of government.

The tour will last from Friday until the 24th.
