The Queen is coming to Broadway. To be more specific, Queen Helen Mirren is bringing “The Audience” to New York. Mirren will return to Broadway next spring as Elizabeth II in the work that wowed London audiences and earned her an Olivier Award. “The Audience” imagines the private weekly meetings between the British monarch and the 12 prime ministers who’ve held power over Elizabeth’s 60-year reign. Previews start Feb. 17. The play will run through June at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
